Career Profile :
Quang Tieng has worked at the Centre for Magnetic Resonance at the University of Queensland from May 1999. Quang was appointed as the Centre's system administrator, with a minor research support component. His primary role within the centre involved the installation, maintenance and upgrade of software, as well as its security and providing assistance to staff and students in the resolution of computing and IT related problems. Besides that, Quang has conducted research in a number of different areas and developed software used for research purposes in the field of Magnetic Resonance Imaging.
Dr Tieng has researched and developed software in the following areas.
- Digital signature schemes with symmetric and asymmetric key cryptography.
- Digial signal and image processing and their applications in object recognision, signal modelling and detection.
- Applications of wavelet transform, multiresolution and fractal in image processing, data modelling and compression.
- Constructing fast MR imaging using sub-encoding data sets from multiple detectors.
- Adaptive filtering and its application in processing ECG signal currupted by gradient noises.
- Stress analysis of superconducting windings.
- NMR imaging reconstruction in the presence of static field inhomogeneities and gradient field nonlinearities.
