Research Interests
Andrew Whittaker has interests
in polymer physical chemistry and many aspects of nuclear magnetic
resonance spectroscopy and imaging. One area of his work focusses
on the interaction of water with macromolecules, whether they
be biological or synthetic. An application is the preparation
of synthetic polymers for controlled release of drugs. He is
active in a number of other fields, including polymer degradation,
meat science and timber seasoning.
He is Past-Chair of the RACI Polymer
Division, Chair-Elect of the Pacific Polymer Federation and
National Representative to the Macromolecular Division of IUPAC
and the International Association for Radiation Research.
